Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance
By using BarcoPay, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all customers and merchants.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, a Nigerian resident or citizen, and hold a valid Nigerian mobile number registered in your name.
3. The Service
BarcoPay provides barcode-based payment confirmation. Confirmation originates from the BarcoPay server only. Merchants must not release goods based on a customer showing their own phone screen or a verbal claim — only the confirmation on the merchant's own BarcoPay screen is valid.
4. Transaction Limits
- Tier 0 (phone number only): ₦20,000 daily
- Tier 1 (BVN or NIN verified): ₦100,000 daily
- Tier 2 (full document verification): ₦500,000 daily
- Tier 3 (enhanced verification): ₦2,000,000 daily
5. Fees
Transaction fees are shown in the BarcoPay app before every payment. We provide 14 days notice of any fee changes.
6. Account Security
Keep your PIN confidential. BarcoPay will never ask for your PIN via SMS, call, or email. Report lost devices immediately using the emergency lock feature or by contacting hello@scanmetech.ng.
7. Prohibited Use
BarcoPay may not be used for illegal goods, money laundering, fraud, terrorist financing, or any activity prohibited under Nigerian law or CBN regulations.
8. Intellectual Property
All BarcoPay technology including ScanShield, BasketMirror, and FuelSync is the exclusive property of ScanMe Tech Innovations Ltd, protected by Nigerian trademark law and provisional patent.
9. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the value of the specific transaction in dispute.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
